Pack for the days you will have, not just the pictures you imagine.
The most useful holiday wardrobe is not the biggest one. It is a small group of pieces that work in more than one combination, feel right in the climate and leave space for the unexpected. Start with the itinerary, then build a wardrobe around how you actually like to dress.
Choose a loose colour story
Pick two or three colours that already work together in your wardrobe, then add one accent if you want it. This makes it easier to mix tops, bottoms and layers without packing a separate outfit for every day. Neutrals are useful, but a colour you love can earn its place just as easily.
Pack in outfit families
- For travel days: comfortable layers that are easy to add or remove.
- For exploring: a repeatable base, practical shoes and a bag that keeps essentials close.
- For evenings: one piece that changes the mood, such as a sharper layer, a different shoe or jewellery you already love.
- For changing weather: a light layer that can work across several outfits.
Think about fabric care, walking distances and whether you can wear a piece twice in a different combination. If something only works with one other item, it needs a good reason to come along.
Leave room for the place
Dress respectfully for local customs and the places you plan to visit, and check practical requirements before you travel. The goal is not to make every outfit perfect in advance. It is to arrive with enough options to feel comfortable, curious and present.
A considered holiday edit should make getting dressed easier, not turn the trip into a packing challenge.
